Important Dates:

October 5th - Sign up for boys 1st-8th grade at the Oakview South Elementary, 5:30pm-7pm.

December 30th - Deadline to sign up for 7th & 8th grade boys basketball

January 7th - Try outs: 7th grade, 5pm, Middle School main gym, 8th grade, 6:30pm, Middle school main gym.

Sign-Up

Who: 1st-8th Grade Boys

When: Wednesday, October 5, 2011, 5:30pm-7pm.

Where: Oakview South Elementary

Fee:

1st-2nd grades - Monday night league - $45 per child

3rd-6th grades - $75 per child (There will be a $60.00 uniform deposit - due at sign up) Please write 2 separate checks.

7th-8th grades - $75 per child (There will be an $80 uniform
deposit -due at sign up) Please write 2 separate checks

Mailed forms must be post marked by Oct. 7, 2011 (a late fee off $15.00 will be accessed after October 7)

Season Information

1st - 2nd grades: Games & practices will be on Mondays starting December 5, 2011, running through February (while the rim will be set at 8 feet, this is not Biddy basketball)

3rd – 6th grades: Practices (one to two per week) will begin the first week of November. Games will be Saturdays and/or Sundays starting December 3, 2011, and running through February 4, 2012. Tournaments
will be held the weekends of February 11th or 18th, 2012. There will not be games/practices during Christmas break.

7th – 8th grades: Season will start January 21, 2012, and run through March 18, 2012. The tournament will be the weekend of March 25, 2012. There will be one to two practices per week, however gym space islimited. 


Notes:

1. You must bring your insurance card plan number to sign up.
2. Physicals are not required.
3. Please mail all sign-up forms to the appropriate director.

Volunteers

We are actively looking for volunteer coaches. We cannot run this program without volunteers! Please contact the appropriate contact person if you can help, or have any questions. If you cannot help, please do your best to support those that do. PLEASE NO CALLS AFTER 9:00 PM ON THE WEEKENDS AND NO CALLS UNTIL 3:00 PM DURING THE WEEK!

Forms Needed

There are four forms that must be filled out for 5th - 8th grade.

#1 Tri-County Youth Sports Waiver/Release Form

#2 Permission to Play and Release of Liability

#3 St Johns Basketball Information Form

#4 Tri-County Youth Basketball Association

#5 Volunteer Application

(The Tri-County form does not have to be filled out for 1st  thru 4th grades.)


More Info

All games played at the Middle School and in other cities, will have a gate fee of around $7.00 per family.

The 3rd & 4th grade SJYAA Boys Intramural League will be the same aslast season. All the games will be played Saturday mornings at St. Johns Middle School.

The Tri-County League is a travel league! All teams 5th thru 8th will play in the Tri-County League this season. There will be two divisions A & B within the league. All teams will travel to many different schools in the Tri-County Area. All home games will be played at St. Johns Middle School.

SJYAA Teams

We plan to have two or three teams in each grade level. 5th thru 8th.
I plan to have no more than 10 on a team.

ALL COACHES NEED TO ATTEND TRYOUTS AND BE THERE TO PICK TEAMS!

Tri-County League rules, schedules, directions, and standings can be followed in www.laingsburghoops.com (click on Tri-County links.) This is the official web site. All coaches and parents must check this website for updated schedule changes and information, throughout the season.

There will be a $15 fee charged. This is due to league fees that are already paid when rosters are sent in and completed. This rule will apply for all players in SJYAA basketball.

You will receive your team picture information from your coaches after the season begins.
